WHY I HATE POLITICS

I think as the presidential election year is in full swing and the primary elections will be starting very soon I just have to say why I hate politics. I used to be a registered democrat and quite a few years ago I registered as unaffiliated. I have voted for democrats, republicans, and third party candidates.

The problem that I have with politics is that candidates will lie, bend the truth, and say statements that they know very well are false in order to get elected. I hear them bash the other candidates. I don't want to hear that. What I want to hear is what they are going to do to make my state and my country better. As I grew up the two parties in Congress would work together and come to a compromise. Those days are long gone and I am sad to say that it is hurting America. Democrats and republicans alike now fail to compromise. That is a shame.

After elections whoever wins seems to forget that it was the people that voted them into office. After the election they take money from large corporations and lobbyists and vote for legislation the way they want. That is not the America that I grew up in. Candidates want to shake your hand and act like they really care what you think. After the election many won't give you the time of day. I have never shaken the hand of a candidate of a local, state, or national election.

Politics is a dirty business. People that get elected often take office with the best of intentions. Soon many of them become crooked and corrupt. If it is proven that anyone in elected office has been involved in a crime they should be removed from office.

It is the right of everyone to express their opinion, but I do believe that no one should show disrespect to the President of the United States. Whoever is in that office should be given respect. Whether it is a democrat, a republican, or a third party president, they have earned that position by the vote of the people of the United States of America.

I have been proud of some democratic presidents and have thought others were poor presidents. I have been proud of some republican presidents and have thought others were poor presidents.  Sure I disagree with some of the policies of all presidents, but they are our president and we should be proud, understanding, and not be disrespectful to the office of President of the United States of America.

Good Bless America!!!
